Continued development of 3D solar collection strategies highlighted in new publication featuring scientists from physics an engineering departments working at NANOTECH

A new paper published by students at NANOTECH continue the development of 3 optical structures to enhance photon capture and energy conversion in solar arrays. Conceptually, the idea is to collect heat and visible radiation simultaneously By using 3D structures, the converted energy can be routed by the structure in some optimal way for storage or use.

Passive tracking and combined photovoltaics with solar-thermal capture using simple 3D optical structures, LJ Gray, C Griffin, W Wolszczak, P Allaire, DL Carroll, Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy 13 (6), 069101
