Honolulu a major success

The MRS spring meeting held in Honolulu this year can only be described as a huge success for the scientists and engineers that attended. While WFU NanoteQ participated in the quantum materials sections of the conference, the attendees (Groningin, Delft, Dresden, Melbourne, Tokyo, and more) were the best of the best. Exciting and highly participatory sections, coffee-time conversations, and dinner interactions among the participants was made easy by excellent organization and well chosen section heads. For all who love Quantum Materials this may have been the place to be this year.

Wake was also honored to be represented again by our excellent graduate students. Moteharre Mirhosseini presented her recent work using EELS (together with collaborators at ORNL) identifying the strange plasmonic response of 2D TI chalcogenides. For almost 20 years now, MRS, spring and fall, has had WFU participation and students presenting exciting new findings, further distinguishing our university in the Materials Fields.

Thank you to the students and staff at WFU for all the great work you do, and to MRS for bringing us a fantastic meeting this year. See you in Seattle next!
